1930's Red Shield Badge with Garnets & Pearls

Thanks to the discovery of a piece from this era on E-Bay by Dr. Eric ‘Grips’ Springer, a nearly 100-year-old piece of our fraternal history has been preserved. An image of this item appears in a circa 1920’s fraternity publication named ‘Frat Chat’ that he discovered as well. Thanks to both of these research finds, it is safe to say that this item was an authentic Delt jewelry piece from that era. Dialog in the document dates it, by mentioning the recent graduation of Dr. David Palmer from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Dave, the son of B.J. Palmer, graduated from the prestigious Wharton School of Finance & Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania in 1929. This piece is the first in many decades to be produced containing pearls and stones and is only available with this design. This item is 14k gold plated.
